Electric Boat Hiring To Meet Demand For Skilled Workers

Electric Boat, located at Quonset Point, will begin hiring in earnest this summer and fall to fill positions that have become available after winning a $17.6billion contract with the United States Navy.

According to Electric Boat President Jeffrey S. Geiger, they would – ideally – hire workers with previous training and skills. If you’re interested in a career in shipbuilding – and possibly at Electric Boat – then the Shipbuilding/Marine Trades and Advanced Manufacturing Institute (SAMI) at New England Institute of Technology can help!

The SAMI program is committed to providing unemployed Rhode Island workers free skills assessments and training to get them back into the job market in their chosen trade. For more information, and to see if you qualify, call us at (401) 730-5000 x3700 or fill out our inquiry form.
